Two great tools to use alone or in combination to keep your sensor and digital apparati dust-free!
1) The CopperHill SensorSweep - the best and most affordable static-charged sensor brush on the market
2) Tech-Spray 10 oz. canned-air - ultra pure; non-flammable; non-ozone depleting; odorless
The SensorSweep comes with complete instructions, charging medium and a porta-tube; there is also an insert with guidelines in safely using canned-air.
You will not believe how well Tech-Spray charges the SensorSweep. Simply set the can on a level surface like a desk or table then bring the tip of the brush right up to the nozzle. Pull the trigger half-way and spray one side of the bristles for about 5 seconds, turn the brush, repeat and you should have a great charge. Gently guide the brush over the sensor surface and the dust will literally jump up into the filaments.
Tech-Spray is head and shoulders better than any of the generic canned-airs.
NOTE: In their public workshops and classes, Canon technicians use canned-air to clean sensors.
Using the jet-straw, you can blow your sensor off with a powerful, concentrated blast of air with absolutely no risk of damage. As with the SensorSweep, place the can upright and bring the camera body up to the jet-straw. Use several short, staccato blasts to remove the lion's-share of the dust. Canned-air is also great to use on lenses, camera bodies, keyboards and computer internals.
NOTE: Because of the pressurized can, this item is only available in the 48 contiguous United States and must be shipped UPS-Ground. Shipping is $10.00 (USA) and $12.75 (Canada).
